Decks
"Installing a deck may be the most cost-efficient way to add square footage to your house, and of all the outdoor home improvements except painting, it may be the most reliable value. Decks average $6,304 and generally recoup 104% of their value. That may not sound terribly impressive, but other touted outdoor improvements fare much worse."

From time to time there is the occasion that the homeowner really needs to see a "side view" or "elevation" to get a clearer vision of the work we'll be doing. We may also get a job that involves a third dimension like a screened porch or sunroom with walls and a roof. For these projects, in addition to the hand drawn floor plan, we use a computer program that allows us to provide 3D pictures of the completed work. Unfortunately, this program is limited in what it can do when it comes to decks. We have spent years searching for a program that will allow us to draw decks matching our own and have found none that allow for full customization and produce 3D renderings. The software we are using is the only one that comes close, and we have recently begun working with one of the program's developers to create additions or "plug-ins" that will be Custom Deckworks specific. This will mean being able to see our benches, tables, planters, etc. in 3D.

This is a Sun Room with a Deck on the side and a Screened Porch underneath that we added to this house in early 2004. This was one of many 3D pictures we provided to the homeowner prior to beginning work.

This shows a building we added to this house that contains a bar and an 8 ft. spa. The new building is attached to the garage of the house by a short hallway. The deck shown in the plan is an existing structure not built by Custom Deckworks.
